Nathan is a Quality Assurance Specialist in the Claims Department at Heartland Mutual Insurance.
Since earning his BSc in Kinesiology in 2016, he’s been immersed in the insurance industry. A proud CIP graduate, Nathan has been sharing his passion for the profession by teaching CIP courses since 2020.
When he’s off the clock, you’ll find Nathan experimenting with new recipes on the grill or Blackstone, hitting the gym, or making the most of summer weekends camping in the great outdoors.

Kayla is a property field adjuster with HD Mutual Insurance Company. She has been in the industry since 2014. Kayla graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2014 with a degree in English and has obtained her CIP designation. Outside of work, Kayla enjoys snowboarding, golfing and playing baseball. In the summer, she can often be found outside on a patio.

Michele has been employed at Trillium Mutual since 2009 as a multi-lines claims adjuster but has been in the insurance industry for a little longer than that!
Fun fact: Michele was a director on the K-W board for one year in the late 90’s. (Now, she’s showing her age!) She’s happy to be back!
She is also a graduate of Fanshawe College from the Business Finance and the Business Insurance Program and has also obtained her FCIP.
Michele was born, raised and continue to lives in Bruce County! In her spare time, Michele likes to go “glamping” with her family, riding the side-by-side or reading and can be found on a volunteer committee or two in her local home town.

Kyle has been working in the insurance industry since 2017 and joined Curo Claims in 2019. He currently holds the tile of Property Examiner where he manages large loss files.
Outside of work, Kyle enjoys golfing and traveling.

Laura has been in the Insurance Industry for close to 20 years and has her CIP designation . She has held positions in Auto PD, Property and is currently the Accident Benefits and Claims Support Manager at Heartland Mutual.
Laura grew up in rural Ontario in a family of dairy farmers and is married with two grown children. She shares her passion for giving back so in her personal time, she is an advocate for the special needs community and is now excited to be part of the KW OIAA to promote education and long-term relationships within the Insurance community.

Nathan earned his Master’s degree in Computer Science along with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Technology from Wayne State University. He has earned certificates in Risk Management from the University of Toronto (Risk Management Principle and Practices, Risk Assessment and Treatment). In addition to all these accolades, he is a licenced Private Investigator.
His insurance industry involvement over the past 15 years includes roles on the executive teams of the Thousand Islands & Kitchener-Waterloo chapters of the Ontario Insurance Adjusters Association (OIAA) and the Ontario Insurance Professionals Association (OIPA). He is a member of the Canadian Defence Lawyers (CDL), CLHIA (Canadian Life and Health Association) and WICC.
In addition to Nathan professional accomplishments, Nathan is an avid chess enthusiast. He enjoys Spending time with friends and his family, loves being active and involved with his two boys and going on long walks with his oversized pooch! He believes that engaging in such activities outside of work is not only a great way to relieve stress, but also improves mental well-being.

Alberto Martinez is a forensic engineer working out of CEP Forensic’s Waterloo office, specializing in motor vehicle collision reconstruction and biomechanical investigations. He graduated from the University of Guelph with a bachelor’s in biomedical engineering in 2014 and a master’s in mechanical engineering from McMaster University in 2017. Alberto is a licensed engineer with the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO).
